  1. One Man Show The Odyssey

February 27, 7:00 PM - March 1, 7:00 PM @ Crabpot Players Theater, Mt. Pleasant, SC

Shipwrecks, cyclopses, and sirens meet cannibalism, loyalty and revenge. Charlie Bethel's tour to Mt. Pleasant unpacks it all for you in this retelling of Homer's epic tale of a crafty hero trying to get home and the circumstances that stretch him to his limit. Solo performance is the original form of theatre practice. Before Thespis, before Sophocles, before literacy, before it all, was a person before a fire with a story in mind, acting out the parts. Come and see this original theatrical form. One epic tale, a narrator, eighty-plus characters, gods and goddesses, storms at sea, epic death and destruction, high comedy, shocking tragedy and sweet romance by a single performer.
