  2. Trio Solutions Provides Pro-Bono Marketing Services for 2014 CreateAthon?

    Trio Solutions (TRIO), a Mount Pleasant-based marketing communications agency, invites Lowcountry-area nonprofits to apply for the 8th annual CreateAthon®, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014. CreateAthon is a collaborative, 24-hour creative blitz that changes the impact of nonprofits and the lives of creative thinkers. TRIO, the official CreateAthon agency for the Lowcountry area, will provide marketing services to nonprofit organizations on a pro-bono basis from 8 a.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday. The selected nonprofits should have little or no marketing budgets. Beneficiaries receive deliverables such as: marketing and fundraising plans, logos, websites, banners, postcards, brand identity packages, website assessments and social media plans.   7. British Car Day

    October 25, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM @ Memorial Waterfront Park

    The British Car Club of Charleston will hold its 30th British Car Day at the beautiful Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. This event will be held in the grassy area north of the parking lot. Many excellent examples of the classic marques of British Car will be on hand from the well-known to the unusual. Admission is free so come on out, browse among the cars, and get to know the folks at the British Car Club of Charleston. All proceeds from the show go to benefit the Garrett Academy Autobody Class, a very worthwhile effort.

  8. 5th Annual Charleston Mac Off

    No other food combines love, comfort, and Southern roots like Mac and Cheese. We are celebrating our 5th year of this event that gives tribute to our love of the versatile cheesy dish. Last year, over 5,000 people gathered to sample traditional and gourmet offerings of Mac & Cheese and award bragging rights to The Best Mac & Cheese in Charleston. The event will include live music from Jared Blake from The Voice TV show and local band Adalya, as well as other food and beverage choices from area vendors and national sponsors.

    Ages 2 to 5 are asked to come join the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department in a ghoulish Halloween celebration. The children will want to see what or who is behind each of our trick or treating doors. After collecting a few goodies, they will also want to participate in our games, crafts, and even get their faces painted if they dare. There will be a free magic show at 1:00 pm

    Grab your girlfriends and join us at SOL for our NEW weekly Happy Hour event series, Breast Friends Thursdays! Every Thursday from now until the end of October, head over between 6-8pm as Mix 96's Two Girls and a Guy host our weekly happy hour party with the chance to win prizes each week. The Vanity Salon Style Bus will also be rolling up each week, offering you free hair and makeup touch-ups! To honor the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, we're partnering with our friends at Hollings Cancer Center's Breast Cancer Research Center to raise money for breast cancer research. From now until the end of October, $1 from every Prickly Pear Margarita and order of Chicken Nachos sold will be donated to the charity. So get chomping and sipping, folks, we've got some fundraising to do!
