Welcoming locals and visitors alike into the store, the cooking school and Southerly Restaurant and Patio. These festivities will give visitors a taste of everything this food-lover's paradise offers.

  3. Blackbeard's Cove Family Fun Park "Talk Like a Pirate" Weekend

    September 19, 10:00 AM @ Blackbeard's Cove Family Fun Park

    To commemorate National “Talk Like a Pirate Day,” Blackbeard’s Cove Family Fun Park will be offering a weekend full of family-friendly events September 19 – 21. Events include: • Friday, Sept. 19 from 6-7:30pm: Mt. Pleasant Police Officers will be on-site to read pirate books to children ages 5-11 • Friday, Sept. 19 at 7pm and Saturday, Sept. 20 at 11am & 5pm: Family Scavenger Hunts with prizes awarded to winning families • Saturday, Sept. 20 from 3-5pm: Special guests Captain Bob and Eric the Pirate will be making balloons for the kids • All weekend: anyone who comes dressed as a pirate will receive free putt-putt Families interested in signing up for a scavenger hunt must reserve their spot by Wednesday, Sept. 17 by calling 843-971-1223 or by emailing contact@blackbeardscove.net.

  4. Party at the Point Fall Series

    September 19, 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina

    Charleston’s premier happy hour concert series, Party at the Point, is back. The fall concert series is set to kick-off on Friday, September 5 with The Dave Matthews Tribute Band. The weekly event takes place every Friday afternoon from 5:30pm until 9:30pm at the beautiful Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina on Patriot’s Point and features a full cash bar, including happy hour draft beer while it lasts. The 2014 fall series will run Friday, September 5 – Friday, October 10.   7. 2014 Beach/River Sweep Volunteers Needed

    September 20, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ There will be a tent set up in front of Sawyer’s Landing Condominiums on the Mount Pleasant side of the Ben Sawyer Causeway.

    Beach Sweep / River Sweep organized by S.C. Sea Grant Consortium in partnership with Mount Pleasant Waterworks is the largest one-day litter cleanup of South Carolina's beaches and rivers. On Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. thousands of South Carolinians will volunteer to clear trash from our beaches, rivers, and marshes. South Carolina has participated in this Annual Beach Sweep/River Sweep since 1988. Mount Pleasant Waterworks invites you to participate. Anyone can help; including businesses, civic clubs, recreation clubs, individuals, families, school groups, church groups, and youth groups. There will be a tent set up in front of Sawyer’s Landing Condominiums on the Mount Pleasant side of the Ben Sawyer Causeway. The clean-up will reach from Mount Pleasant to Sullivan’s Island.   14. Reading Patrol Celebrates Patriotism & Heroes

    The Mount Pleasant Reading Patrol will celebrate heroes with Barnes & Noble at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, on Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to noon. The theme of this month’s reading will center on patriotism and heroes. Mount Pleasant police officers will share their passion for reading with young children. “We invite all children to ask a police officer present at the reading for a Buddy Card. By collecting the signatures of ten police officers, they’ll get to interact with our staff and they’ll be able to claim a prize at Town Hall. Instead of trading in pictures of celebrities, the Cops & Kids Buddy Card program trades in autographs of real-life heroes, our police force,” said Sgt. Les Mauldin. The Mount Pleasant Reading Patrol meets on the third Saturday of each month at Barnes and Noble for an hour of reading, followed by craft and giveaways.     Join the Mount Pleasant Business Association for their monthly luncheon. The Mount Pleasant Business Association is the voice for the Mount Pleasant business community. They bring together business leaders from a wide variety of industries to help one another build their businesses, increase their network, generate leads, stay informed and help Mount Pleasant remain as the best community in America to live, learn, work and play in. Meetings are typically held on the third Thursday of each month, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn – Mount Pleasant located at 250 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. Note: We recommend arriving early as the networking begins at 11:45 a.m. **Regularly scheduled meeting moved to Thursday, September 25th due to Mount Pleasant Expo on September 18th.
